Aushma Sunar, 3, is a permanent resident from Umakunda Rural municipality-3, in the Ramechhap district of eastern Nepal. Her family belongs to the Dalit community, and her parents are literate. Her parents always wanted her to have a good education. Thus, her parents brought her to Kathmandu. Currently, her family is staying at Mahankal, Kathmandu. Aayushma’s parents sell chana- chatpate (a popular strict snack).
Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic took the life of her father, and Aayushma’s family is going through an extreme financial crisis. Currently, her mother is selling Chana-chatpate. The income from the small street business is insufficient to cover all the expenses of her, her mother and her sister. Being the eldest child of the family, she now has the full responsibility of supporting her mother and sister. Perhaps, she might have to discontinue her studies and work as a street vendor. The Bharosa scholarship can provide her with excellent support to continue his further education.
