Bibek Khatri,9, from Panchpokhari Thangpang, a rural municipality of the Sindhupalchok District of eastern Nepal. There are 4 family members in his family, and he is the eldest child. Bibek Khatri is an outstanding student in his school and is studying in grade 3. Bibek’s family income is based on agriculture, from which the 4 family members had to survive. With an annual income of less than one lakh, Bibek’s father used to manage the whole household’s needs.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic took the life of the only breadwinner of the family at the very young age of 27. Currently, Bibek’s family is going through an extreme financial crisis as the whole household responsibility came under his mother. There is a situation where this outstanding child who could have a very bright future has to discontinue his studies. The Bharosa scholarship can provide him with great support to continue his further education.
