Bishnu Koirala, 17, from Ajarkot, one of the rural municipalities in the Gorkha district of western Nepal. Bishnu’s father died when he was an infant, due to which he never could get love from his family. He, along with his mother and siblings, stays with his grandparents. His family’s income is based on agriculture, and after the death of his father, the whole family had to go through extreme poverty. His whole family got affected by Corona, and no one from his family went out to earn. As a result, they were not able to pay for a healthy diet and medical care during Corona. The family had to take out a loan for the recovery. Bishnu had a very tough time. He always wanted to have a good life for his family. Although he couldn’t afford it, he always wanted to continue his education as he knew that education is the only way out to have a good life for his family. The Bahoosa scholarship could give him the hope to fight for his situation as he will be able to continue his education.
