Aakrit Pokhrel, 5, is a resident of Gorkha, one of the municipalities of the Gorkha District of western Nepal. She is the eldest daughter of her family. Aakriti is an outstanding student in his school and is studying in grade 2. Aakriti’s family income is based on agriculture, from which the 5 family members had to survive. With an annual income of less than one lakh, Aakriti’s father used to manage the whole household.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic took the life of the only breadwinner of the family. Currently, Aakriti’s family is going through an extreme financial crisis due to which this outstanding child who could have a very bright future has to discontinue her studies. The Bharosa scholarship could be a great opportunity for her to continue her bright future.
