Jaya Raj Bohara,12, is from Surma Rural, one of the Municipalities in the Bajhang district of far western Nepal. He is currently studying in grade 2. He is a hard-working and academically outstanding student. Jay’s family relies on construction site labour, but the income is hardly enough for six family members to survive. With an annual income of less than Rs 100,000, Jay’s father used to address all household needs.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic took the life of his father. Currently, Jaya Raj’s family is going through an extreme financial crisis as the whole household responsibility came under his mother. There is a situation where this outstanding child, who could have a very bright future, has to discontinue his studies. The Bharosa scholarship can provide him with excellent support to continue his further education.
